“Escort Girl” (1941) was an exciting romantic comedy that starred Betty Compson and Margaret Marquis. It garnered a great deal of fame in its day, and cemented both actresses as two of Hollywood’s leading ladies.
Set during the early days of World War II, “Escort Girl” follows the misadventures of two sisters who are separated by their military service.
Betty Compson plays Mary, a young woman who is enlisted to serve in England while her sister Lillian (Margaret Marquis) joins the Navy back home in America.
As fate would have it, they unknowingly meet up again on an ocean liner headed for London – only Lillian isn’t aware that Mary is her sister!
